Can I trust your coconut oil to be organic?

Sure you can. Our coconut oil undergoes rigorous inspections by the supervisory body in the United Kingdom (Organic Food Federation) before they are certified as organic. You can be sure that you are getting the best product in hand.

Has your coconut oil obtained the Fairtrade certification?

We decided to go the Fairtrade way on principle. We believe in using best quality products and we wanted our customers to have the same experience without compromising on ethics. We have made this choice not just for the logo on our label, we believe in the Fairtrade philosophy.

Could vegans use your coconut oil?

100%. The Vegan Society has certified our coconut oil. Our coconut oil is neither made from any animal products, nor has it been tested on animals.

Can you explain the process in which your coconut oil is extracted?

Sure. We use the wet milling process, a process known to produce the purest form of coconut oil. In this process, the freshly dried coconut meat is pressed to produce coconut milk. In the next step, the coconut oil is separated. Technically, what you get as end product is raw coconut oil which has its flavor and aroma intact along with all the nutritional properties.

How do you differentiate palm and coconut oil?

Cold pressed coconut oil is far more beneficial than coconut oil. Palm oil is a much inferior grade oil as compared to coconut oil. Most importantly, palm plantation has been associated with issues such as deforestation and animal life displacement. Choose coconut oil over palm oil as it is superior, sustainable and has nothing but positive effects on the human body.

Can I apply your coconut oil on my skin?

We would recommend that you do apply our coconut oil on your skin. As you must be aware, coconut oil has a variety of skin benefitting properties. You can replace your expensive moisturiser and use our pure coconut oil instead to moisture your skin. They get absorbed in your skin without making your skin appear greasy. A lot of serious skin problems such as atopic eczema and other skin allergies can be treated with the help of coconut oil. They can also be used as an excellent make up remover as opposed to the harsher chemicals that you buy in the market.

Is it possible to use your coconut oil for cooking purposes?

It is not just possible, it is exactly what you should be doing. In fact, coconut oil is widely used in cooking Asian and oriental cuisines. Coconut oil is durable and possesses a thermal stability of up to 200 degree celcius. This makes cooking, frying and baking extremely easy with coconut oil. The dishes get a unique flavor and tastes delicious. When it comes to cooking hot dishes, you can use coconut oil for cooking meat, vegetables and all sorts of baked and grilled dishes. Will the quality of the oil get affected due to change in its state?

The change in the state, from solid to liquid or vice versa, does not have any impact on the quality of coconut oil.

Does the coconut oil from Sri Lanka taste different from that from Phillipines?

We feel as far as the taste is concerned, you would not find much of a difference in the coconut oil. But, we believe such opinions are subjective and depend on the consumer.

What is the calorific value of your coconut oil?

15 ml of our coconut oil contains 121 kcal energy. This will constitute 6% of your daily recommended dosage.

Does coconut oil have teeth whiteing benefits?

Brush your teeth with coconut oil regularly and you can see the difference in a few days. In fact, oil and other natural products have been used in cleaning teeth since time immemorial. Take a drop or two of coconut oil on your finger tips and brush away.

Should you store coconut oil in a glass container or plastic?

Always store coconut oil in a glass container. Plastic containers are believed to react and release harmful substances that not only deteriorate the quality of the oil, but could also prove harmful for human health.

There are small specks in the bottom of my coconut oil. What are they?

They are coconut fibers. They’re perfectly normal, much like finding small bits of cork in a glass of fine wine.
